KASA Fox 2

In 1993, the owners of KGSW-TV (channel 14 on the UHF band) had the opportunity to purchase the floundering KKTO-TV and move its Fox Network affiliated programming up the dial to the more desirous VHF band. In addition to the new call letters, the station needed a new logo to represent KASA Fox 2.
As the staff graphic designer, I was asked to provide concepts for a new logo that incorporated the numeral 2 and a sense of New Mexico locale. The final iteration was this squarish-formatted numeral with a familiar zia symbol incorporated into the counterspace.
The logo was incorporated into both print and broadcast applications, as well as this new-fangled thing called the “world wide web.”
